Family wine cellar Josić has been promoting the values and beauties of the Nature park Kopački rit making good wines and pursuing effective marketing strategies. Endangered birds living in Kopački rit such as: black heron (cicconia nigra), egret (cicconia cicconia) and redshank (tringa totanus) are emphasized on the labels of wine bottles. The owners show their ecological awareness promoting and emphasizing rare and endangered birds making this area famous.
In 1999 the Josić family bought a wine cellar originated from 1935 and made a reconstruction taking care about its authentic appearance, although it was equipped by the most up-to-date technology. At the same time, they bought 1.6 ha of old vineyards. Their high quality wines are made of autochthonous kinds of Baranja grapes grown in vineyards situated on the hills of Baranjska kosa.
Love, ambition, enthusiasm and entrepreneurial spirit have given the results.
Today, winery Josić has about 20 ha of their own vineyards.
Josić wines have been awarded by golden, silver and bronze medals on wine prize-awarding competition «Slavin 2002» for their Riesling (white dry wine) harvest in 2001, Pinot blanc (white dry wine) and various red wines.
